For the past week or two, Chrome has become surprisingly unstable -- it's been crashing on me about once a day. Weirdly, it is usually when I'm not using it that it crashes: typically, I wake my computer from idle and find that Chrome has gone splat.

Anybody else seeing anything like this? I'm mystified about where the problem is.

(And man, it is wonderful to know that DW now supports Markdown. Hadn't even occurred to me until they mentioned it in today's update. The custom entry URL thing is pretty neat, too...)

Are you on dev builds or standard (or Canary?)?

Haven't seen myself.

Also, what plugins if any?

Are you also running Firefox by any chance? Firefox has an instability that it can barely handle and it takes Chrome down first.

Not what I've seen. I have not been able to track down the source of the one I'm seeing, which happens when I click a link and it is passed over to Chromium. Sometimes it crashes. Not every time. Not often enough to have gotten me to hunt it down completely, but often enough to annoy the crap out of me.

I believe there's an instability in the latest update of AdBlock (by which I mean the Chrome "extension" of that name). It appears to have some kind of loop it gets into retrieving an updated blacklist or whitelist from its server and it doesn't properly release memory.

This is entirely external observations playing with Chrome on Windows, Task Manager, and selectively killing threads that appear to be growing in memory footprint.
