The TV show "Unwrapped" on Food Network has had interviews with people who collect M&Ms memorabilia and have whole massive houses filled with the stuff, and talked about the different attitudes of the different colored M&Ms. (I enjoyed Hershey Times Square, but I think that's mostly because I'm a sucker for stuffed animals.)
