I started ringing in 1980 and still ring regularly on weekends. Arthur (Leif) learned in IAP of 1981 and has rung from time to time since. Michael of York rang in the late 1970s. I don’t recall when the modernish version of bell wheels was invented, but it may not have been Medieval - there were half-wheels before there were full ones. The ringing in “Shakespeare in Love” at the end of the wedding was both anachronistic and geographically (?) incorrect - the church that was used for the filming has five bells, not the twelve that one can hear ringing Stedman Cinques.
