As I mentioned in my answer to this point, I think the appropriate approach is to promote a particular attitude, rather than specific guidelines and requirements. If we teach people that authenticity is mostly a *personal* matter, and that you're responsible for your own decisions about what level is appropriate, it deals with most aspects of the problem.
Of course, then we need to actually practice what we preach, which requires being pretty non-judgemental about the other person's choices. I can't say we always succeed at that. But I try to keep it as a goal...
