Oh, absolutely, but that's kind of the point. The polls had suggested that things were something like 53/47 in favor of Remain; not a blowout by any means, but a fair lead. What these new social-engineering technologies are apparently focused on (so far) is being able to manipulate the populace enough to swing elections that look like that.

On some level it's "just" propaganda -- but it's increasingly scientific, precise and effective propaganda, being leveled at all of us. That is, at best, very creepy, and pretty dangerous: in a country like ours, that is relatively finely balanced, it's enough to swing a *lot* of elections if we don't guard against it...
