Unfun times at Microsoft

Whee. The combination of slipping the next version of Windows and a nicely anonymous blog have let loose an impressive burst of internal vitriol. If you're in the mood for some schadenfreude at Microsoft's expense, it's worth a dig through, especially the comments.

(And may I just note that "schadenfreude" was not in my vocabulary until [livejournal.com profile] ladysprite introduced me to the Avenue Q soundtrack? Just goes to show that the Sesame Street paradigm of education is still sound today...)

I picked up the word in the course of discussions on game theory and design, as it's a fairly common word bandied around the modern German/Euro game design community.

Rather useful word, actually.

It also shows up in an early Simpsons episode.

That may be where I first ran across it, though it's been a part of my vocabulary for a while. A couple of times after Avenue Q came out but before I'd heard it I used the term and didn't understand why people thought I was refering to the musical.
