The Return of Thinkwell

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mikekn for creating and pointing out the new feed for Thinkwell: [livejournal.com profile] thinkwell_tng. Back about 10-12 years ago, Thinkwell was the place for really great philosophy discussion about the SCA -- a paper newsletter run by Mistress Aelfled of Duckford, about All Things SCAdian. She would pose interesting questions, people would write back to her about them, she would edit those replies down into topical sections of the newsletter, and these moderated discussions would run for some months. It was consistently high-quality debate, and a lot of fun.

Anyway, she's gotten herself a blog, and is playing with the Thinkwell concept there again. It's just starting up, and we'll see how the idea adapts to this new world, but at the least I expect her to be good for much useful food for thought. Those who are into SCA philosophy should probably follow the feed...

I still have my copies of Thinkwell. Glad to hear it is back.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear this is running again...

Being a relative newbie, I hadn't heard of this before. Instead, I thought you were talking about the publisher of the well-conceived but poorly implemented precalculus text I used last spring.

I need to see if I can get copies of the old issues some time. I'd love to read through them.

There should have been at least most of a set in the Kingdom Historian's files, unless your predecessor decided they were superfluous. Grrr. (You're looking for 8.5x11 blue sheets, stapled in one corner.)

I haven't found them yet, but I'll keep an eye out for them. As far as I can tell, the only things he got rid of were newsletters from out of Kingdom.

No, silly, we subscribed in duplicate. In fact, if Mike can't find them, it probably means they're *all* still in our home office.
