Technical point; Modesty Blaise didn't originate from graphic novels. Rather, she debuted as a British comic strip, of which there have been a number of collections. While the strips do divide neatly into distinct stories, they're still newspaper strips with some repetition on Monday's strips and the like rather than a graphic novel per se.
