Heh. Hurray for good design and frequent updates to that design done right.

I recall a similar incident, where I started writing something trivial in a fairly over-engineered fashion, and my collaborator complained...until, as with the above example, we were able to add entirely new functionality just by adding a subclass with one new method and it all magically worked.
