As "reasons for a traffic jam" go...

That is just bizarre!

Oh. I should have posted about that, shouldn't I? I remembered to announce it in class tonight (we get out at exactly the time the elephants were to be unloaded on Vassar St.)

Ringling brothers used to have mini street-sweepers for exactly that purpose. I've seen them following the elephants on 34th st after the tunnel walk.

Ahhh, the tunnel walk--we've done that (http://shalmestere.livejournal.com/2005/03/23/), but these days we never seem to find out in time :-/

As in Rocky & Bullwinkle, or something more mechanized?

Little truck with rotating bristle brush, just like the regular street cleaning kind, but smaller and emblazoned with the circus logo. Pretty darn cute really.

[livejournal.com profile] mermaidlad and I got out before the circus -- but the street was lined with expectant spectators. So, naturally, we drove slowly down Mass Ave with the windows open waving majestically to the crowds.

What? They weren't waiting for us?

"mermaidlad"

OK, *there's* an odd mental image...

Weird... the "edit comment" function seems to have gone away.

[identity profile] new-man.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh... except I can edit the one I just made...

[identity profile] new-man.livejournal.com 2008-10-07 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It seems you can only edit a comment until someone replies to it...

Yup. Helps prevent bait-and-switch arguments, presumably.
