True, and a common reason given why he chose Palin over Leiberman. But I suspect he would have done better by focusing on a genuine "get out the vote" effort where it was needed, rather than using the Palin pick as a way to do so.
Also, I suspect that the real problem is that this helped him mostly in the states that he was going to win anyway (the deep-red ones), and mostly hurt him in the genuine swing states...
