The Zen of Google Ads

There are days when the ads in Gmail are my principal entertainment.

Today's observation: as I am cleaning out my spam, the advertisement? A link to a recipe for "Spam Fajitas"...

I love that all the spam ads wind up being spam recipes. It amuses me to no end. :)

Spam Fajita should be a euphemism for something... a phishing tactic in an otherwise normal thread of comments. "Ignore the spam fajita and keep reading."

A message board I read has vigilant staff who delete advertising as soon as it is reported or discovered independently.

They then post a recipe that contains spam as an ingredient. Often, they go the extra mile and make it topical, so the advertisment which was posted in a thread about chocolate was replaced with a chocolate spam salad recipe....
