Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mindways for the pointer to this interesting little article, which is a bit of "there's nothing new under the sun". It goes through some of the common modern tips that research is showing are good for you, and comparing them with the recommendations in Buddhism. Rather anecdotal and imprecise, but also not surprising that there is a bunch of correlation, given that Buddhism is one of the few religions that really prioritized peace of mind...

Hm. Interesting.

Nothing makes me happier than the knowledge that I know more than the leading scholars at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia regarding the medicine and sociology of 1790s Philadelphia.

How do I know? Nothing else gets me jumping up and down bouncing and squealing with glee... and the feeling carries over for about 14 hours and can be rediscovered and produce the same feeling of glee for about 14 hours no matter what else happens.
