I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. It clearly is a pragmatic way to keep hotel guests from running up the electric bill, so would be likeliest to hit places that are energy-conscious (like Europe and CA) first.

(And unlike the shower-door thing, I largely find it reasonable -- just a pain if you're not expecting it...)
