Looking for suggestions of Things to Do

I've come to a realization in recent months: my social life has all but collapsed. That is no one's fault but my own -- I've allowed myself to get too tired and over-stressed, and have been hermiting. Problem is, that is terrible for my head. Working remotely from home, the lack of enough things to do on my evenings means that I spent most of my time in two rooms, seeing no human beings except for Kate. While I love her dearly, that is so very, very bad for me.

I have some things that I am committed to doing, now and then, but that's part of the problem: my social life has reduced to commitments, and those have started to feel too much like work. I need to get away from those being the be-all and end-all of my social interaction, and find more fun things I can do optionally, when I feel like it.

This request is particularly acute for this coming week. Kate's going to be out of town (traveling for work), so the danger of stir-craziness is high -- made worse by the fact that it's my birthday week, so it's a little depressing. So thoughts of things happening Mon-Thurs are especially welcome.

So I'm looking for suggestions. What are some fun out-and-about things that you are doing nowadays? Dance, chat, gaming, cooking, whatever -- I'm mainly looking for ideas from those of y'all who know me and have some ideas of the kinds of things I like doing. Long-term commitments aren't the idea here, although short-term ones are possible.

This is brainstorming, so any and all ideas welcome. Thanks!

If I recall your location correctly-to-within-an-order-of-magnitude, you may find the open board game night at Pandemonium Books a thing you wish to check out; I keep meaning to go and then getting other things scheduled against it, but one of these weekends I really will be there.

On one of my trips to the Cambridge office, my boss arranged a group outing at a pizza place with candlepin bowling. Candlepin bowling is not something I would have thought of (or, for that matter, had ever heard of), but it was the right combination of casual and light-hearted but still doing something besides just eating a meal together, so if you've got a few people to do it with, maybe something like that?

Also a group thing: escape room? That would scratch the puzzle/game itch, I think.

Any decent galleries or museums nearby?
