You know it's snowing fast when...

... you finish shoveling the bottom of the driveway, only to find that another two inches have piled up at the top. (It's word time, boys and girls! The word of the day is "Sisyphean". Can you say "Sisyphean"? I knew you could.)

... you go inside and find that your black hat is entirely white. This is because there are 1.5 inches of snow encrusted onto it, as smoothly as if applied by a pastry chef. (Why, yes -- my name does seem to be Frosty.)

I do hope that all the people who were so disappointed at not getting their snowstorm on Tuesday are now properly satisfied...

you clear your *vehicle* off and there's another two inches of snow on the hood when you've just cleared the back window...

Nobody believes me, but once in a while we get snow measured in FEET per hour.

Okay, that trumps me. But this one was 3-6 inches per hour, which is scary enough.

(I was sure that I had to be hallucinating -- snow couldn't possibly come down *that* fast in MA. But they're now saying that it was the heaviest snowstorm in nearly ten years...)
