And now for the obscure stuff...

Almost done with the main body of the tape project. We're done with the inventory, and nearly finished sorting out who gets which tapes. So I'll be calling for people to start picking up the tapes they claimed pretty soon.

In the meantime, the dubbing goes full-force, and I'm getting into some of the genre curiosities. For example, today's project is Legend, a short-lived little sci-fi western starring Richard Dean Anderson with a silly moustache, and John de Lancie as his mad-scientist friend. Tomorrow is probably Covington Cross, which I vaguely recall as a cross between Lion in Winter and The Brady Bunch. And the day after that comes Twin Peaks season 2 -- not nearly as good as the first season, but I'm not willing to let it completely vanish from sight. (Season 1 is available on DVD, so there's no need to preserve it for the ages.)

If anyone's interested in getting these or stuff like them, give a yell -- the tapes are going in the trash shortly...

Or, as I fondly referred to it, Beverly Hills 01209 :-)

I vaguely recall Legend, an d would like to see it again sometime. I have, however, no operational VCR at the moment, so will not claim the tapes.

I loved Legend, which was amazingly silly and Richard Dean Anderson-like. If you're doing gifts by mail, I'd love it...

Oh, thank you!

Rumor has it that Twin Peaks Season Two will be out on DVD in April. It's already been delayed a number of times, so this isn't a guarantee, but I'd be surprised if it manages to stay unavailable much longer.

Have you asked Patri Pugliese about his tape collection? All this reminiscing about obscure shows reminds me that he is the only person I know who had the short-lived , delightfully silly "Wizards and Warriors" on VHS.

Oh, my goodness - my mom *ADORED* Legend! I haven't thought of it since it first aired, but I remember her watching it devotedly.

I know someone else has already claimed the videotapes, but.... I don't suppose I could beg you for a copy of the DVD's? You'd make the holidays a good bit brighter for a middle-aged lady with a crush on Richard Dean Anderson... :)

Throwing out tapes???

You're...you're...you're thr-thr-throwing out t-t-tapes???
Omigawd...please tell me you've posted a list somewhere.

Terilee would love a copy of Legend (and I've read the caveats above.) We can pay postage, or if you'd rather hang onto it until Intercon, that'd be fine.
