For those who are having fun speculating about who the Final Cylon is, I commend this entry in Peter David's blog -- I hadn't heard this particular guess before, and while I don't *think* it's likely correct, it's an intriguing left-field idea...

That's pretty cool but I doubt it. I was intrigued to learn the final five were chosen by committee in the third quarter of the season the four were revealed. It really shoots down any speculation such as the Anastasia Dualla theory.

I'm still betting there is another model still on earth once they get there.

Unless (and I don't think this is beyond RDM) they are blowing smoke up people's butts.

But it does gel with the choice of one of them who had previously been off the list of potential Cylons because he is too damn old.

He really is, isn't he? I had wondered about that since he has an established history LONG ago. With all the glitches his character has it does make you wonder if he was the floor model for the entire line!

The Final Five were developed on Earth, wreaked their revenge on the inhabitants, went out and found the other Twelve Colonies in the midst of war with the Cylons. They then conquered the Cylons, leaving four in hiding and one went to go create the other Seven.

I'd LOVE to go look. As I'm a fan of the series. But via Netflix ... so I am a few seasons behind the rest of you, and don't want to accidentally stumble upon a spoiler.
