jadasc: Herrell's in Harvard Square is closing. Granted, I've been going there less and less over the years (I've long found Tosci's flavor palette more interesting), but it still held a lot of sentimental value from college, sitting in the fish safe with friends. It'll be missed...

Well, crud!
That's a bummer, both for nostalgic reasons, and because it was one of the few specialty ice cream shops I found which did really good / interesting ice creams and really good frappes. (Surprising numbers of places fall down on the latter.)

Maybe the not-so-little people will take me to visit it some day after it becomes a pub.

I have wished every day since Wednesday that I'd gotten that pint of Cambridge Lime Pie at Tosci's.

Suffice it to say, the site used to be a bank. When they bought it, they painted the inside of the vault as a fish tank. It's really quite the unique spot to sit and eat with friends...
