Catching the Wave: Sprechen sie Jargon

Today's entry in Catching the Wave goes through the new-and-different jargon it brings in: "waves", "blips" and other such stuff. (Wouldn't be an Internet tool if it didn't have stupid jargon, right?) It also briefly talks about one of the most interesting things about Wave: its hyperactive notion of threaded conversation.

Justin: I am just edging into this thing, kinda hoping I will bump into you if I get lost in the wilds of wavedom.

Is it more, or couldn't this be used very effectively in running a reign?

It's potentially useful. There's a couple of articles to come, about what it is and isn't good at, but the summary is that it's good at collaborative editing -- in particular, working together to get a text document hammered into the shape you want. It *will* be useful for a lot more than that, but that depends on people writing "gadgets" that plug into it and add functionality for other sorts of projects.

Security is kind of typical for Google: there is every reason to believe that it's *probably* fine, but they don't make any guarantees. So I'm a bit leery about what we put into it from work, but it's probably good enough for reign purposes.
