We just got an email from BBC America, telling us that a show we were interested in is airing soon. The show is Torchwood.

Episode 2.

Airing February 6, 2008.

One does wonder just how big that mail queue managed to get before somebody noticed it...

I'm just annoyed that you can't get much in the way of content from the regular BBC off of their website unless you are actually in the UK. On the other hand, if they didn't restrict the content, their site would get overwhelmed....

Hmmm... BBC America is showing a bunch of early Torchwood repeats this month, so an old request might have re-triggered and the 2/6/2008 might refer to the original airdate (wrong, but understandable).

Possible (indeed, that had occurred to me), but if so, something quite odd is going on -- the email uses an old version of their URL, so it winds up redirecting.

So if this is the case, then it implies that they have a rogue script somewhere, probably set up years ago, which is listening for programming events and sending out emails based on a template that hasn't even been looked at in a long time...
