Oh, sure -- no point in eating ice cream if it isn't covered with stuff. I'm partial to solid-chocolate toppings: m&ms, heath bars, and the like. Chocolate chips will do in a pinch, and are often what I use at home. Don't actually do hot fudge all that much, but that's mostly because I prefer butterscotch, and don't care for the combination. Whipped cream is most excellent, although not quite as crucial as it is for pie.
Regardless, I'm always very careful to pace myself, to make sure that there's plenty of toppings left at the end..
