Trial by fire (or flood, as the case may be)

As the wind makes way for the deluge, I am suddenly reminded that I got new gutters installed less than a week ago. Which, on the one hand, is probably a Very Good Thing -- the old gutters were somewhat leaf-clogged and more than a bit broken, while the new ones are fancy clog-preventing ones, intact and better-designed to begin with.

But I would be a bit more sanguine if they had been through a modest rainstorm before this...
