Given the existing prevalence of surveillance state mechanics (automated face recognition, automated plate scanning whether on the road or parked, etcetera), EZ Pass is not making the situation appreciably worse.
It does tie the transponder to the plate to the credit card. But often the credit card is already tied to the plate when you registered the card.
