Agreed, but I honestly think it's the majority view -- certainly so in this Kingdom. Perhaps more importantly, it's what the new folks coming in the door want to see, so IMO it's time to be more explicit and upfront about that, and stop tolerating attempts to claim that armored combat is so central to the club as to be our "brand".
As came up during a conversation on Mastodon, it's not as if we're the only people who do armored combat, or even necessarily the best -- many of the folks who really want to focus on that have been drifting towards HEMA. The wide variety of activities is what really distinguishes us...
