Just saw an ad: the next (and presumably last) debate of the Democratic Gubernatorial Candidates is apparently next Wednesday at 7pm, on channel 4. Based on the ads I'm currently seeing, I suspect that the kid gloves will be off this time: while they're still steering clear of true attack ads, the close race has led everyone to start actually talking about each other. This one was actually described as being "the Democratic candidates" (unlike the previous ones, which were open to all candidates willing to show up), so I assume that Mihos won't be there this time...

Y'know, the thing that really damns Kerry Healey isn't the comparisons you can draw between her and the Democratic candidates. It's the fact that if you stack her up against the candidates for *Lieutenant* Governor (a pair of self-made women like herself, so it invites the comparison), she's still clearly the lesser candidate.

I'm just boggled that they've brought back the ads that make her look like a housewife. Daughter of a war hero, put herself through school, supported her family for a while, etc -- yes, it's all lovely stuff. But it has nothing to do with the job. Are there really demographics for whom this is a winning pitch? It's possible, but I'd be surprised...
