Okay, yes -- I'm spending too much time talking about one restaurant. (Nor is that stopping, since we're going there for my birthday.) Suffice it to say, it's a delightful change of pace having a good restaurant in this neck of the woods.

Anyway: for those who enjoy the artform that is Brunch, I can strongly commend Masa in Woburn. (Warning: website automatically plays music. They can't be perfect in every way, I suppose.) We went there with my mother yesterday, and it was every bit as excellent as their dinners. It started with their usual bread basket: I had a couple of Jalepeno biscuits, mostly with the Habanero jelly on them. (Not actually scary-hot, but it did have a fine sweet tang.) The Huevos Rancheros were excellent: two perfect sunny-side up eggs over slightly crisped tortillas and a black bean sauce, topped with fresh sour cream and pico de gallo. Mom and [livejournal.com profile] msmemory both had the Eggs Benedict with home fries.

Price was a little high but not outrageous for a high-end restaurant including 2 cocktails and coffee: about $20/person plus tip. And this time, the service was solid: neither pushy nor slow.

So a fine weekend brunch option, if you're interested in a southwestern take on the idea. And they're apparently opening up for weekday lunches next week...
