Interesting. Is this just AdSense? My last experience was quite a while ago (in 'internet time'): about 1.5 years. It's very possible that they've improved it significantly: this is certainly well beyond the capabilities I remember seeing at the time. What I remember is essentially "You include this script in your page, You specify the size of ads you want, and the number, and whether you'll allow images or not, and we do everything else." (And the images was even after I had had them on my site for a year.
(Note that in my entire year of having ads on my 10,000 hits a day website, I only got about $35 out of the bargain. I was not too impressed.)
