Yeah, I was thinking about you several times during the show. (Particularly the hoops and fabric.) I can see what you mean about "inspirational" -- when Cirque is good, it pushes the sensawonda buttons very well.
Don't know for sure how consistent the revival is with the original. I assume the hoop act was there in the original, but it wouldn't surprise me if things have changed somewhat. I will admit that it was one of several times during the show that I was struck by the fact that Cirque manages to make the Olympics look easy by comparison...
