One of the problems in our media age is that everyone thinks he or she is immune to the herd-beast mentality, that he or she is able to watch the dozens of news outlets repeating each other but remain detached from it all. People develop opinions without even consciously realizing how they arrive at these conclusions, then have them affirmed by everyone else around them.
