cellio posted this discussion of the anti-gay horror legislation recently passed in Virginia. I'm usually loathe to call people evil, but this pretty much qualifies -- the legislators behind this deserve to be shot. It's bad enough to deny the right of civil unions, but this goes far beyond that, in an apparently deliberate attempt to turn homosexuals into second-class citizens. Nasty stuff.

Having noticed the new feed for bettybowers, I went and checked out the website for Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian. This is an utterly vicious, nastily funny satire of the religious right, with articles like First Lady Laura Bush's Helpful Tips on Protecting the Sanctity of Your Marriage (subtitle: A Christian Lady's Guide to the Disgusting Marital Obligation of Biannual Fellatio). A bit over the top, but a delightful skewering of the usual rhetoric.
