The latest goodies:

The Secret History of the Court of Justinian, by Procopius. A nineteenth-century translation of a sixth-century partial history of Byzantium. Looks to be very catty and fun.

The Morris Book, by Cecil Sharp. A seminal book on the subject of Morris dance. I wouldn't rely too carefully on its history (Sharp advanced the field of dance greatly, but a lot has been superceded), but still quite important and interesting.

Haven't read that particular translation of Procopius, but the one I have is certainly a fun read. Would be a little concerned about 19-th century expurgation, though, as it has *lots* of sex in it. Plus the Byzantine equivalent of soccer hooligans. Basically, Procopius was Justinian's offical court historian. Being more dedicated to truth than many, he separated all of the "publishing this will lose my job, and maybe my head" material into a separate volume, to be published posthumously :-)
