One probably-last note about last night. As I was driving home this evening, a caller on one of the talk shows made a point that hadn't occurred to me. Paraphrasing from memory:

Governor Jindal's speech came across as a parody of Obama's. And as we were watching it, the first thing my wife and I thought was, "This poor guy -- wait until Saturday Night Live gets a hold of this".

And I'm afraid he's nailed it: this was *perfect* SNL fodder, and they even have a cast member whose looks and excessively earnest manner could do Jindal perfectly. He may be doomed...
