Does the Phantom Ghost game exist outside these walls?

Memento has what I can only call a phys-meme going around. It goes like this: I find on my chair a bag full of candy. Along with it is a doggerel poem, telling me that I've been hit by the Phantom Ghost. I must post the poem publicly (so that everyone knows I've already been hit), make two copies of it, and present similar bags to two colleagues who haven't gotten it yet, by tomorrow. It's sort of a Halloween Secret Santa, with candy.

So I find myself curious: have others come across this before? It's the first I've ever heard of it, and while it borders on the much-despised Mandatory Fun, it's kind of an enjoyable excuse to spread a smile or two.

(Speaking of Mandatory Fun, this is Spirit Week at Memento. Every day has different official clothing to wear to work. I'm mostly going to ignore it, but yesterday was Crazy Hat Day, so I kind of had to go for that -- I brought in eight, and swapped them every hour. I spent the entire big project meeting wearing msmemory's best coronet. My official story is that I've done my part for company spirit, and can take a pass on the rest of the week...)
