What the heck, I haven't enthused this week. So instead, here's a link to someone else enthusing about Scala -- specifically, a Python enthusiast explaining why Scala, despite being a static language, satisfies many of the same motives that drive folks to dynamic languages. (As well as pointing up a bunch of the other strong points of the language.) Nothing new here, but if you've been curious, it's a good overview of "Why Scala?".
