Remember that scare email I mentioned the other day -- the one with Jane's old low-security password? As should probably have been obvious, I just got one with my old low-security password. Moral of the story: there are good reasons to use different passwords everywhere, and a good vault.

That said, I will credit the whole thing as being a worthwhile experience, if only because it just inspired me (as a background task, while waiting for compile/test) to go do a deep trawl through the vault. And yes, I was still using that password for about a dozen sites, including a few that actually matter a little. (Nothing worth hacking, but accounts that would be inconvenient if somebody impersonated me there.)

So all fixed, and thanks to the hackers for bringing the matter to my attention before anybody actually did anything with the information...
