A Part of Me Has Always Expected This...

I'm currently working my way through the Jan 11th issue of The Economist (I get them when Kate is done). The International section (which nowadays is always an essay on some sort of world-wide cross-cutting concern) was on the topic of Disgust.
It starts with a description of The Museum of Disgusting Food in Sweden, which is dedicated to food that is considered reasonable, often even a delicacy, in some part of the world, but which is considered repulsive by many others. Rotted Greenland Shark; Philippine duck eggs with embryos in them; Korean octopus, eaten live -- lots of things that are pretty foul to the average American palate.
The American contributions? Twinkies and Pop-Tarts.
Chacun a son gout, indeed...
