Pardon a brief rant.

I'm in the middle of catching up with back issues of Microsoft Watch, and I come across this little tidbit, talking about WinCE:

And, just as was the case with Windows, Microsoft has been discovering that many of the errors that crashed the operating system were attributable to third-party applications.

No. Errors that crash the operating system are bugs in the operating system. If the operating system lets third-party applications crash it, that's a bug...

Yup, MS products make the same mistakes that I learned how to avoid when I studied Operating Systems in college, circa 1982.

1. Guns don't kill people. People kill people.
2. Government officials who reveal the name of undercover operatives aren't criminals. People who investigate government officials who reveal the name of undercover operatives are criminals.
3. Crappy operating systems don't crash the computer. People who use crappy operating systems crash the computer.
