The R. Tam Sessions

msmemory found this indirectly via one of her mailing lists, ultimately from Rotten Tomatoes. The R. Tam Sessions are a rather creepy little promo for Serenity -- all unofficial in the way of modern buzz, but as Joss puts it, "...I also deny knowledge of those things that I wrote and shot and am in." No real spoilers for the movie, but they serve as a sort of prelude to it.

Nasty stuff. Don't read the transcripts -- the movielet is far more effective seen than read. Nicely done: frankly, if River were half this unsettling in the movie itself, she'd have been significantly more interesting.

(Oh -- the Quicktime version didn't work properly for me, but the Windows Media one did. YMMV...)

are there more then the 4 that have been up for a few months now? i knwo there were two and then another two but i havne't checked back since before pennsic...

This site pulls all of them together into a single 8-minute movie, so I'm not 100% sure. It seems to be around four or five segments, but I don't know where the original divisions were...

The Quicktime files do seem to be bad. The Windows Media version worked for me, though.

I don't have Windows Media on the iBook, and I can't convince quicktime to convert the files.

So grab Windows Media Player for Mac OS X and watch the WMP version.

The "Complete" Quicktime file is missing this part (http://www.session416.com/media/R_Tam_Session_416_First_Excerpt.mov). Download it to the same folder, and the "Complete" movie will play.
