Copyright slider

Thanks to Ars Technica for this pointer to the Copyright Slider, a useful little tool. It's basically a Flash version of one of those little paper sliders: set the pointer, and the windows give you answers. In this case, set the publication date (and renewals and such) of a work, and it tells you whether it's currently covered under copyright.

It's full of asterisks and pointers to related documents and such, which mostly drive home how insanely complex the subject is. But it's still a useful little reference tool...
