I need to find out where faheud gets his anvils, and see if I can buy one large enough to drop on Washington Mutual Home Loans collectively. There really is no excuse for the home-selling process to be this much of a pain in the ass...

Odd — we've never had a problem with the company, but they acquired our mortgage, they didn't initiate it…

Oh, they acquired ours as well, and I haven't previously had much problem with them. But the degree of incompetence and runaround we've gotten from them in trying to pay the damned thing off has been startling. As far as I can tell, they buy the things, dump the notes into a shed somewhere and lose them. There's simply no excuse for it to take multiple weeks for them to pull the notes from storage in order to tell you how much money you owe them. (Which is what has happened to us, and I gather is pretty common.) Even after faxing them *our* copy of the note, they still haven't gotten back to us with the numbers...

I believe "The Chihuahau of Justice" (my ex's attorney) has some spare cycles. Expensive - but all the sonorous skills of AElfgar, with the social skills of Solveig Throndarsdottir.
