Thanks to snarkyman for the pointer to this article. It's a deeply unsettling look at the parallels of history, and eminently worth reading all the way through if you care about where things are and could be going.

One parallel is a detail; five are coincidence. Dozens, however, are history and fate whispering in your ears and telling you not to be stupid...
