So I just noticed that the sponsored ad in Gmail for me right now is for "www.yourbadhabits.com" -- "Learn How to Quickly and Easily Stop Condescending to People". Which I originally wrote off as simply a non-sequiteur, until I realized it was on a conversation about Girl Genius...

This showed up matched with one of my LJ-comment threads (which go to gmail). I'm wondering if they're cueing on keywords or if they've actually measuring tone... ;)

I was having a conversation about a samhain ritual and I got a slew of Vote for the Republicans, Get email from Ann Coulter, Read Bush's Blog stuff.

If they are clueing off the paganism, do they really think google ads are going to persuade me to vote for those wackjobs?

"To the East we invoke Our Lady of the Narrow Mind, Anne Coulter. We beg thee to spread lies, damn lies, and misinformation on this holy day of Voter Power."

"To the South we invoke the Master of the Shades of Meaning, Rush Limbah. We beg thee to spread your over the counter drugs to all the people trying to vote the current administration out of office so that they may get lost of the way to the polls."

... hmmm.. I should probably stop here. I don't want anything to really go wrong today....
