... specifically, the occasional shipments of Turkish baklava, which makes the stuff you find in the US taste like dry cardboard by comparison. Bits of pistachio on the bottom, exactly the right amount of honey (sweet, but not cloying), resulting in what may be the platonic ideal of "dessert"...

Many years ago I had a Turkish coworker. Every Christmas she went for a trip home, and brought back real</> Turkish Delight. I had never understood why anyone could be excited by it until a had the genuine article, so I understand your pleasure.

I *discovered* baklava (and kataifi (sp?)) in Turkey, and have devoted much of my life to the futile search for somthing similar over here.
