Okay, so what's this all about? It's one thing to find *one* connection between the SCA and Playboy today, but two? On the one hand, there's reportedly an article in the December issue of the magazine about Fettered Cock pewterers. On the other, there's the rather jaw-dropping pictorial online (don't have the link to hand, sorry) using House Bloodguard as essentially, the background art. The combination makes for a downright surreal day...

I don't see what's so jaw-dropping about it. She's completely clothed throughout.

Unless you mean jaw-droppingly lame. I'll agree with that.

(I may be somewhat jaded, given that my husband used to have a Playboy subscription and I read it regularly...)

...and there was that "new look" article about pennsic some 15 years ago; that was a Playboy-corp publication, I think.

Article is pushing the definition. 3" of column space, most of it for the picture of 5 or 6 charms.

have any details on the House Bloodgard layout, I don't see any SCA type backgrounds in any of the recent postings on playboy.com

Doh

Thank god that did not work. I totally forgot where I was and clicked on it at the office.

Apparently, you can get there from inside the Playboy web site. Going to the A&E section, and looking for "Bam Margera" works, and shows Icefalcon and some Blood Guard guys doin' that thing they do.

that thing they do.

... which appears to be "completely ignoring partially dressed hot babes writhing around on velvet." Yep, very manly. Yup, yup.

Yeah, come to think of it, I think she was, attending to his Majesty at the time, if memory serves.

In the members section.

there are only a few shots of the outdoor shoot, the Bloodguard guys. She shows nothing. I think this section was for MTV's benefit.

Then they move inside for the nude shoot, where she does strip down.

From the "making of" video, outside was a horde of crew. Inside there was Bam, Margera, a stylist, a "real" photographer giving advice and a couple of assistances running around adjusting lights and such.

As a photographer myself, I could tell the outdoor shots with Bloodgaurd were going to be bad. Not just unplubishable, but BAD.

No one was giving directions to anyone. The guys just took up various battle poses, Margera's poses had nothing to do with the guy's poses. To the point where the guys poses would totaly screw up the background of her pose. One shot had a sword pointing at her neck, yet her expression did not acknowledge a sword was at her neck.

Someone made the comment about ignoring the girl wearing skimpy leather clothes, well... she was ignoring them totatly. Even when between shots, the guys were slo-mo fighting looking for a good pose, she was blathering on about something else.

The inside photos looked like any of the other amature/celeb photoshoots online. Nicely done under the guidence of a pro, but still lacking that certain something, which can only be learned with years of experience or by having inate talent.

After looking at the first few photos, I wondered if it was photoshopped.

It looked that bad.

Now a slow motion brawl over/to impress the partially dressed woman, that would have lead to some interesting shots. :)

I'm honestly not seeing anything wrong with it.
