5.05 miles in 45 minutes = a sustained 6.73 MPH. Finally got through the 5-mile barrier. Next big hurdle to work up to is 5.25 miles, which is the 7 MPH mark...
To be fair, that's on the elliptical machine -- my knees are eroding slowly, so my "real" running days are past. So the distance traveled by the legs is the same, but the impact isn't there, and the result is that it's not quite as hard on the cardio. The real-running equivalent effort is probably .5 or so MPH less.
But yeah -- I'm never going to be a great athelete in any respect, but at least my stamina isn't half-bad...
