Garh. It appears that, as part of LJ's response to their current DDOS storm, I've wound up temporarily limited to postings and comments that are under 2K in length. This should be an interesting challenge...

My journal has been in that state since Thursday, and also was for a couple days last week. Grumble. (Is it server-related? The paying customers are supposed to get the better servers, but that doesn't seem to be happening right now.)

The support page suggests posting by email, but my attempts to do so bounced.

That's...odd. How would comment length increase the possibility of a DDoS? I'd think the length of each specific DB entry would really not do much to increase server load, disk load, bandwidth...?

Well, I guess I won't be posting any story updates in the near future, if that's the cap.

It's only affecting some users. There have been no meaningful status updates since early Friday morning, either. (Apparently [livejournal.com profile] jducoeur got a response to his bug report, but I didn't even get that. I also had what appeared to be new information for them, and I don't know if they even read it.)

The issue I've been having since the latest controversy is that the first time I go the the lj main page, it says server not found. The second time it works.

Um, not quite dead consistent. Usually I have to go to another page and come back, but sometimes a refresh or browser check will work, sometimes not.

Just please say that you won't lapse into "text"-speak in the effort to save space...

*snort*

The email client took the post that the website choked upon, repeatedly. You could try that also.

But you can't edit it until the stupid DDOS is cleared up, so be sure it's correct the first time.

perhaps "Speak concisely and clearly" instead? Though as I gather that part of the charm of haiku at least sometimes is timeliness, your first effort is probably better in spite of the grammatical shmoo. Or you could argue that historically adjectives have been used in place of adverbs.
