The IPv6 Transition

Thanks to osewalrus for the link to this wonderful Powerpoint slide deck on the subject of the IPv4-to-IPv6 transition. It is a fine, ruthless look at the current state of things, making three principle points:

• IPv6 is going to happen;


• It's going to be a pain in the ass, and moreso if people keep playing religious games;


• Stop Playing Games And Deal With It.

It's long as slide decks go (55 slides), and quite technical (going over my head in a number of places), but the general gist is worth picking up if you're involved with the Internet-tech space...

I assure you that the only change in those three points from 15 years ago was that most people thought that someone else would shortly get around to making it plausible that "IPv6 will happen".
