Some phrases are not common enough that I expect to encounter them repeatedly. When it does happen, I find that my automatic reaction is to ponder the deeper meaning of it. Is the universe trying to tell me something?

So yesterday, I happened across the LiveJournal for [livejournal.com profile] icecreamempress. Today, I happened to be reading the September 5, 2001 issue of The Onion -- which contains a reference to The Emperor of Ice Cream. This may well be the least cosmically significant synchronicity of my life. (Or so it would appear, anyway.)

The only reasonable conclusion is that the universe is whimsical when bored...

Wallace Stevens is pretty whimsical, too. Good poem.

Eldred and I have taken to calling them Celestine moments (from The Celestine Prophecy book in case you aren't familiar with it). I think those moments are fun and look for them.
