Oh, right, one for the memories list...

[livejournal.com profile] msmemory, being the organized person she is, not only noticed the announcements that the ISS was going to be transiting in the evening, she actually noticed the time just before it did so, while we were all sitting around the campfire, and pointed it out to everyone. As the paper said it would, it was roughly at the same height as the moon, moving fairly rapidly across the sky -- right towards it. Of course, Lochleven being the group it is, this led to an entire mob of grown-ups yelling at the sky:

"No -- it's going to hit!"
"Look in front of you! Dive! DIVE!"
"I think it's going to miss..."
"It made it! YAYYYY!"

I really am fond of having a campfire that appreciates the silly...

I spotted the ISS one night simply by chance while looking for meteors. It was fun to watch it slide across the sky although I had to check later to see if it was truly the ISS or not, as I had not checked ahead of time as had [livejournal.com profile] msmemory

[livejournal.com profile] ealdthryth and I were visiting our neighbors (named, ironically enough) House Fallen Star when we spotted ISS speeding across the sky in addition to the meteors over I-79....

Also leading to cries of:

"That's no moon, that's a space station!"
"No, that's no space station, that's the MOON!"
